Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Psychiatrist role based in Amritsar. The Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment for individuals with alcohol, substance-related, and co-occurring mental health disorders. Responsibilities include developing and adjusting individualized treatment plans, prescribing and monitoring medications, and conducting regular follow-up consultations. The role involves collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, counselors, social workers, and nursing staff, to ensure integrated, patient-centered care. The Psychiatrist will also participate in case conferences, contribute to family education, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and support quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives within the rehab center.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine and Psychiatry, with the ability to manage complex cases and co-morbid conditions.
- Demonstrated expertise in Psychiatric Care and Mental Health, including assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment.
- Experience or training in Adolescent Psychiatry and substance use disorders is highly desirable.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completed specialization in Psychiatry (MD/DNB or equivalent) and valid registration with the appropriate medical council.
- Experience working in rehabilitation, de-addiction, or similar inpatient/outpatient mental health settings is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, counseling, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and with diverse patient populations.
